Recipe: Sambal goreng telor - Eggs in red pepper sauce
Sambal goreng telor is a delicious and a bit spicy Indonesian egg dish. If you are preparing a rice table (rijsttafel), sambal goreng telor has to be a part of it.

Ingredients
- 8 eggs
- 2 dl tomato sauce
- 2 tsp trassie (shrimp paste)
- 2 red peppers
- 2 onions
- 2 cloves garlic
- 200 gram coconut milk
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Directions
- Boil the eggs 10 minutes.
- Halve them and put them on a plate.
- Chop the onions, the pepper and the garlic and fry for 5 minutes.
- Add the coconut milk and the trassie and cook 5 more minutes.
- Add the tomato sauce and the lemon juice, leave some more minutes on the heat and then pour the sauce over the eggs.
